An Introduction

How do I write an introduction to a blog? This is my first time writing a blog. I find it very challenging but I'm going to do it anyway....for those who do not know me, I'm Hazel Mohd. What is so special about me? hmm....I love my life, family, friends, cats and above all COFFEE! My girlfriends and I started this weekend coffee session thing about a month ago. Before I spill on how it got started, let me introduce you to my 2 girlfriends.

Mimie a single parent with 2 handsome boys aged 14 & 2 is my best friend from school. We have been going to the same school since primary followed by secondary and later UiTM...but we became close in our pre-university years. As for Elza, she has just become a single parent to a 12 year old daughter since Ramadhan 2013. Her late husband was called to meet his creator at a very tender age of 41, Al-fatihah. Mimie is involved with anything that relates to law (no she's not a politician), Elza is an accountant cum a part time plus size model and I on the other hand a freelance wealth planner. What we have in common besides all of us went to the same school and University, we are single and WE ALL LOVE COFFEE!

So, how did this weekend coffee session start? hmm....it started when Mimie asked me out for breakfast on one fine sunday morning (2nd February 2014). We didn't know where to go and we called Elza up since she's an expert as to which places serve good breakfast. Elza a fitness freak who has just done her morning routine that is climbing up Kiara Hill, was up to it!

Our first Coffee Session was at Frisky Goat cafe in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. It is a cafe that provides a relaxing environment with a modern European touch! What is on the menu? Basically they serve coffee and everything else that you can find in other cafes. What attract my attention besides the cute barista, was the wording on this one particular cushion or pillow (some might call it), it says 'KEEP CALM AND DRINK COFFEE' So we did what most insane people would do, we selfie with the cushion!

Our table is the most noisy table. We laughed, we chat, we took pictures like nobody business! Like Elza always said 'ada aku kisah?' ('do I care?) in translation. What could 3 singles ladies talked about that could be so noisy? Our work? YUCK! Our mothers? Oh ya that is another thing the 3 of us have in common. We all lived (or still lived) with our mother or parents. My mum and Mimie's mum are single parent. As for Elza she lives with both parents. We loves our mums (no doubt about that), but sometimes our mothers can really test our patience!....well moving from there, another favourite topic of ours, or at least mine is MEN! I love to talk about men especially the guy that I'm currently dating or not dating anymore...due to unforeseen circumstances! hehehe....have to stop here for a while, need to do my duty as a muslim....to be continued
Happy earth hour everyone...today mark the day I published my blog! So excited! Feel free to comment ya...anyway after Frisky Goat, our second coffee session was at Departure Lounge cafe, located at Uptown Damansara Utama. Departue Lounge cafe is one of the first cafes in KL to bring in speciality coffee, they get their beans from Australia's 5 Senses coffee. Anyway the concept of Departure Lounge is like a departure lounge you find in an airport.  This time Alif (Mimie's 2 year old son) tagged along.  Alif is a very adorable boy adopted by Mimie on the 4th of July 2013. I remember the date quite well because I was there at the adoption proceeding with another friend. It was a very teary event indeed...

Well back to our coffee session, we could not talked much because we were busy focusing on Alif! Alif definately stole our attention!...nevertheless we still have time for pictures! Very the camwhore!

The initial plan before Departure Lounge came into picture was to climb Broga Hill. Elza was supposed to meet me at my house around 4.30am, and Mimie will come and pick us up at 5.00am.....but due to unforeseen circumstances (Mimie had a major body aching due to some sport event she attended the day before) we ended up at Departure Lounge cafe instead! Tadaa... So much for Broga Hill huh? The plan is still intact in my mind, perhaps some day who knows....
